We all look for guidance our entire life in different areas. The search continues, till we find a master. Some of us are not able to find a guru or are unable to accept anyone as our guru. What if we told you that we can actually find our pathway to the Guru inside us.

In this retreat you will get to understand what your ‘Inner Guru’ really signifies, why it is important to awaken it and how to do it.

It will also help you to learn to identify the main source of instructions which normally come in response to dealing with your daily problems. Is the originator of these instructions your buddhi (intellect), your ahamkara (ego), your chitta (the reservoir of memories and samskaras) or the interplay of these three? You will be able to discriminate if your decisions and actions are driven by vasanas (latent desires) or by your carefully planned objectives.

In other words, this retreat will focus on the fascinating internal journey to your subtle body (sukshma sharira) and to some extent your causal body (karana sharira), helping you to unravel the obstacles on the way and torealign the various components. Without a clear understanding of the role of various components of the subtle body, the root causes of the commonly experienced obstacles and the guidance offered by the sages in overcoming such obstacles, awakening your Inner Guru could prove to be a real challenge. Let SMS help you overcome this challenge and uncover the most important thing - your mission of life.

Most of us don’t know and don’t even try to find out why we are here or why we have taken this birth. How can we steer the life’s ship if we don’t know our destination! Learn to seek the guidance of your Inner Guru to reach your destination.

‘Meditation or Dhyana is the ultimate answer to all the problems and suffering of mankind’ – so say all our scriptures and saints. No wonder in the current stressful environment so many people have started to experiment with meditation amongst other alternatives to finding peace and happiness.

However, most people have a false notion of meditation, and they never quite reach the stage of having a blissful experience in their practice. Even though we all ultimately develop our own method of getting into ‘dhyana’, but it is important at the outset to learn the basic fundamentals which could assist a spiritual aspirant in this journey like:
1. How to relax the body
2. How to sit in a comfortable, steady posture.
3. How to make your breathing process serene.
4. How to witness the object in the train of the mind.
5. How to inspect the quality of thought and learn to promote or strengthen those
thoughts which are positive and helpful in your growth.
6. How not to allow yourself to be disturbed in any situation, whether you judge it to be good or bad.

It is also important to explore alternative ways of overcoming the common obstacles experienced by most people and experiment with the various tools available in different types of yoga to sustain deeper states of meditation.

In a specially tailored retreat, you will also be provided with adequate knowledge of different stages of meditation so that you could assess your own stage as well as trace your own progress. Furthermore, you will be introduced to various tools that could assist you in moving forward. Equipped with this knowledge, you should be able to select the most effective practices suited to your temperament, on the basis of your personal experience, which would make your journey into ‘dhyana’ enjoyable rather than a struggle.
